Beacon is an innovative packaging concept for high-end beauty creams.
In our In our busy lifestyle we sometimes tend to ignore or forget our beauty regime. Beacon is a unique packaging idea that has a timer and light attached to remind you of its application.
How to use?- Just the way you turn the key for an alarm, the users twists the lower body to fix the time they need to apply the cream next. When the upper body comes back to its position, it starts beeping and the light glows, reminding the user for its application. It also comes with a push button applicator, which smoothly massages the face.
The form is simple, contemporary and complements the female form. It is not just a packaging idea but an application reminder system that has not been seen in the market yet.
Plastica Preziosa 3D
These accessories are my explorations as a part of a project undertaken in Politecnico di Milano under the world renown Italian brand, “Kartell”. Plastic is associated with low quality products that lack beauty. Kartell, on the other hand, works to establish plastic as one of the precious materials through innovation in production techniques. They work at making plastic timeless rather than giving them a single -use function and I aimed at working with same ideology.
ERRORS & LEARNING
It was actually my first time modelling for 3D printing. Therefore, it took me a long time to understand the constrictions of 3D printing like optimum angle, material, layers etc.
Although, the first two bracelets were geometrically easier to print, they didn’t exactly compliment Kartell’s identity. On the other hand, my final necklace was a about exploring beauty in asymmetry and imbalance and was therefore asymmetrical and had many uneven forms. It was supposed to have 3 times the density and more fluidity but since the 3D printer could not produce it, I had to reduce some layers and compromise on the design.
Even though my final design didn’t came out as desired, I learned so much about the emerging technology of the time, 3d printing. After this I started printing prototypes, moulds and other small objects as frequently as possible.

We love to play several games with our dogs. Playing fetch, with a frisbee or a ball are just some of our favourite ones. They are important to keep the dog healthy and active. However, what we forget to include in these games are a dog's instant to look/ hunt for his food on its own.
This is where treat toys come in. They allow your pet to actively interact with the toy and also fulfil those instincts as the rewards them with doggy treats.
My idea was to go further in this direction and come up with innovative toys to explore its possibilities using the new technology of 3D printing.
Ball. B is a unique treat toy for dogs which comes with dual functions. Even though it is a frisbee it has a rotating ball in the middle which can be filled with small dog treats. When the dog rolls the toy few of these treats fall out that the dog enjoys to eat. When it is thrown far away as a frisbee the dog goes to fetch it and brings it back. There is a small shutter inside which can be kept shut while the frisbee is in air.
This way even when the owner is not around the dog can play with the Ball . B alone and when the owner is around both can play normally as a frisbee.
